This company, with branches, throughout the UK, had decided to reorganise its senior and middle management layers and slim its Head Office to prepare the business for its next phase of growth. The company had never undertaken a project of this nature before.
Very careful and detailed planning took place to plan the HR processes that would be used to achieve this end. It was further complicated by the fact that the line management who would normally lead this activity were themselves among those whose roles would change or were at risk of redundancy. The situation of every individual or group of individuals was carefully considered and appropriate plans put in place.
The need for consistent and informative communication and support for both management and staff was also considered and a detailed communication plan and materials prepared.
The processes deployed very smoothly leading to the rapid adoption of the new structure of the organisation. No industrial tribunal cases arose from the processes employed.
